I rolled over after being awoken by the sound of the annoying alarm clock beside me. It's not the first time this happened but I guess I've not been myself since the incident with Ben.
"Wow! It's 10:00am and i'm just getting out of bed" My stomach began rumbling so I rushed to the kitchen to get myself something to eat. I stuffed the entire slice of bread greedily in my mouth and chewed like I hadn't eaten in ages. Suddenly I heard a knock on the door.
"I can't let anyone see me like this".

" Bernard my son, we seriously need to talk". I wondered why Mama came all the way from Enugu to see me.
I let her into the sitting room. "Nnena, mama is here!" She went alongside Sarah to greet her with a hug "Mummy welcome....Grandma Good morning" she then walked out of the house with Sarah apparently going to drop her off at school leaving me and Mama at home.
" My son, I heard you want to divorce my daughter" She said looking at me with the eyes of a Lion wanting to pounce on its prey.
" you heard or Nnena told you" I thought to myself. "Ehm! Ehm! Yes Mama but it's not what you think". I looked away from her and said " The love is not there anymore and...."
"Shut up! Young man, if you know what is good for you better start loving your wife again because I would not condone having a divorced daughter"
*Sighs " But Mama, hear me out first". She just ignored me and walked to the kitchen with some bags she brought with her apparently going to cook something.
"God, what is all this?"

I quickly washed my face and brushed my hair then I ran to open the door as I had kept whosoever it was waiting for some time.
As I opened the door, I was shocked to see a middle aged woman and a little girl on her school uniform.
"Yes! How can I be of help?" I said to her as I looked down at the little girl standing besides her.
" So you are the useless woman that wants to scatter my marriage abi!"
I nodded in realisation " Oh! This must be Ben's wife". I wanted exchange harsh words with her but then I realised her daughter, Ben's daughter was with her.
" Do you have to do this in the presence of your daughter?" I asked her in a low tone.
" I will do as I please you shameless harlot!" She said to me as she screamed. I just shut the door behind me because I could not take any more harsh words . I felt hot tears roll down my cheeks.
"God, how did I get myself into this?"
